THE KONA KICKOFF

The Kona Kick Off kicks off our Summer Season!
A “Four Flags” tournament, the Largest Marlin earns 40% of the Base Purse.
The Largest Ahi, Ono and Mahi each earn 20% of the Base Purse.
There are Optional Daily Entries as well.

The Single Largest Marlin of the Tournament will be Winner Take All of the purse from the Base Entry division.
There are TWO Winner Take All Categories to “Throw Down!”

BLUE MARLIN WORLD CUP

No other big game tournament allows teams to fish anywhere in the world for 8 hours in their time zones. The World Cup is for 1 day only, for 1 species only, and with 1 winner only. There is no second place in the World Cup.

​ONE DAY, ONE WINNER!
JULY 4TH, 2024 – 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Big Blue Challenge: Entry in the Big Blue Challenge is optional, and all Tournament Rules will apply. The winning BBC Participant will be the BBC Participant catching the largest blue marlin weighing 500 pounds or more. The BBC is a winner take all event with prize money equal to 80% of the total BBC entry fees (the “BBC Prize Money”). The BBC Prize Money will be distributed to the “Payee” designated in writing by Participant. If there is no BBC winner, 80% of the BBC entry fees will be refunded. BBC Prize money and refunds, if any, however, may be further reduced by any costs and expenses incurred by IGI arising out of any claims or litigation relating to the BBC or the Tournament.


THE SKINS MARLIN DERBY

The most unique Big Marlin competition in the world!
Patterned after the golf format, the Base Purse is available each fishing day to the Largest Marlin weighing 500 lbs or more! If no one catches a marlin of that size, the Day’s Purse Rolls over and is added to the next Day’s Purse.

Teams who are Sponsored by a specific Lure Maker can fish those lures – and – the Highest Placing Team, sponsored by and catching their fish on their Sponsored Lures, will win the Presenting Sponsor position of the Tournament for the following year!

The BIMT was the very first high stakes, big game tournament in Hawaii to pay a cash purse that was outlined in Black and White and adhered to (really)! It was the first to pay cash for tag and release.
The Base Entry pays the Top Three Largest Marlin!
Optionals pay Most Points and Largest Marlin per Day!
